I notice it’s roughly the same technique you use in the coke can - cutting an element into slices and sticking them back together. Something I’d never really considered (although I did once try to make a blur effect by overlaying lots of copies of a div, slightly offset from the original and with low opacity. You might have inspired me to look at that again…).

If only there were a way to tell semantic browsers to ignore it.
